HEAD OF PARTNERSHIPS UNDERWRITING
I lead our dedicated underwriting team for Partnerships, which aims to provide significant capacity to a small group of carefully selected broker and MGA partners that align with Inigo’s data-forward values. I qualified as an actuary in 2010 and have held a variety of positions during my 18 years in the (re)insurance industry spanning actuarial, underwriting and broking roles. Prior to joining Inigo, I spent a decade in the treaty reinsurance space, first underwriting the International Property reinsurance book at AXA XL as a lead/quoting market and then broking for some of the largest buyers of reinsurance in the market as part of Aon’s Global Clients team

MARSH AND ICAT

HUTCH
Partnership in Action
Our Partnership began with a shared a common goal: to bring greater efficiency and improved options and access to the complex, fragmented US mid-market property sector.
Inigo, seizing this opportunity, partnered ICAT, a Victor Insurance MGA, and Marsh’s US Middle Market Placement Platform, Qualified Solutions Group (QSG), to support the creation of a new, Lloyd’s-backed structure exclusively for Marsh clients. This innovative arrangement introduced both fresh capacity and streamlined placement to address the longstanding challenges in the space. The result? A first-of-its-kind facility that now stands among the largest in the sector.
“Working with Inigo has allowed ICAT and Marsh to develop a truly unique product for commercial property clients in the US that delivers streamlined access to stable and secure capacity.”
Robert Klepper Chief Underwriting Officer, ICAT
High-net-worth homeowners in catastrophe-prone areas in the US have long struggled to find cover due to market volatility and insurers unwilling to take risks. Inigo partnered with Johnson & Johnson and the founding management team of Motion to co-establish an MGA, Motion Specialty, providing equity investment in the joint venture as well as acting as the majority capacity provider. We also guided them through the rigorous Lloyd’s coverholder approval process – successfully completed in February 2025 – strengthening their market position. By providing the majority of their capacity, we helped Motion Specialty write up to $4bn in aggregate in its first year, establishing itself as a key player in high-value home insurance.
“Inigo’s partnership and commitment were instrumental in bringing Motion Specialty to life. Their willingness to support innovation in underserved markets — particularly high-value homes exposed to catastrophe risks — has enabled us to deliver specialist cover where others have retreated. Together, we’ve built a platform designed not just for scale, but for resilience and underwriting excellence.”
Dan Alpay & Alex Kickham Founders & Co-CEOs, Motion Specialty
Hutch, an emerging Australian MGA, quickly gained momentum, demonstrating early success in premium growth and loss performance. Looking to expand within their niche, position and to introduce new products, they sought new core capacity from a strategic partner to support their goals. Inigo formed a straightforward partnership built on a shared culture and commitment to deep data and analytics – reinforcing our focus on backing fast-growing, innovative businesses that align with our risk appetite and ambitions.
“Inigo has proven a great partner to Hutch, making decisions quickly and thoughtfully, and always willing to allow us to leverage their deep experience, research and analysis. They've changed the way we think about cat risk in particular.”
Robin Johnson CEO, Hutch
